La YCL-LJC Canada témoigne son entière solidarité envers le peuple et la jeunesse chilienne qui, depuis des semaines, fait oeuvre de résistance contre le gouvernement Piñera. Nous sommes solidaires des millions de manifestant-es pacifiques initialement mobilisés contre une augmentation de 30 pesos du prix des transports publics et appelons à une solidarité active avec leurs luttes. Nous appelons également nos camarades, amis et alliés, le mouvement étudiant, les organisations syndicales ainsi que les forces progressistes et démocratiques à témoigner de leur solidarité avec le peuple chilien. Leur lutte est la nôtre, car leur ennemi est le même que le nôtre: le capitalisme.

Chile: neither batons nor bullets will stop the anger of the masses

YCL-LJC Canada expresses its full solidarity with the Chilean people and youth who have been resisting the Piñera government for weeks. We stand in solidarity with the millions of peaceful demonstrators initially mobilized against a 30 pesos increase in public transport fees and call for active solidarity with their struggles. We also call on our comrades, friends and allies, the student movement, the trade unions and the progressive and democratic forces to show their solidarity with the people of Chile. Their struggle is ours, because their enemy is the same as ours: capitalism.

The YCL-LJC and the Federal Elections 2019

Now that the Federal Election campaign is over, the YCL-LJC wishes to salute the work of the 30 candidates – with a notable amount of young people – who, throughout the country, held in difficult conditions the revolutionary flag of the Communist Party of Canada. We also salute the contribution of the YCL-LJC as a whole as a key element in the different CPC campaigns, helping providing better visibility within the youth and students.

Tous et toutes à la rue le 27 septembre!

Déclaration du Comité exécutif central, Ligue de la jeunesse communiste; septembre 2019 

Le 20 septembre, 3 jours avant la tenue d’un sommet sur l’urgence climatique à New York, la jeunesse et les environnementalistes se mobilisent pour la plus grande et première grève climatique jusqu’à ce jour. Ils ont invité tout le monde à se joindre à eux le vendredi 20 septembre et le vendredi suivant, 27 septembre qui marquera la grève planétaire pour la justice climatique. Les partenaires de ce mouvement (dont la YCL-LJC fait partie) encouragent tous et toutes à au moins prendre part à ces activités. 

La YCL-LJC appuie la jeunesse et les travailleur-euses qui luttent à travers le monde pour un avenir durable et pour leur droit à un environnement propre et durable. Nous appelons nos membres, amis, alliés et toute personne ou organisation progressistes (incluant les syndicats étudiants) à s’impliquer activement dans les actions locales liées à la grève climatique.

All Out September 27th!

On September 20, 3 days before a UN emergency climate summit being held in New York, young people and pro-environment networks are mobilising for their largest and first global climate strike to date. They have invited everyone to join them on Friday, September 20 and again the following Friday, September 27 when they will join Earth Strike for climate justice. Global Climate Strike partners (including the YCL-LJC) are encouraging everyone to attend on both dates and beyond.

The YCL-LJC stands firmly in support of youth and workers around the world fighting for a sustainable future and their right to a clean, sustainable and safe environment, and is calling on its members, friends and on all progressive people and organisations (including student unions) to take an active part in local activities during the Climate Strike.

Anti-communism and Vice Media : is all alternative media really progressive?

In an article published online on July 24th, the so-called alternative media reported on two young men, Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, both researched by the RCMP in relation with two murders that occured in BC on July 14th. Reporting on facts revealed by the Globe and Mail linking these two individuals to ultra-right, neonazi and violent groups especially, the Vice article also states that  « on Facebook, Schmegelsky also liked the Young Communist League of Victoria page » before continuing to enumerate his gun loving activities.
