Masi Evota, Bolivia llaqtapa llamk’apakuqkunantapuwan amachanchik!

Imperialistaskuna, ama Boliviata takachunkuchu! (Inglés simipi)

The YCL-LJC strongly condemns the culmination of the imperialist coup against the Plurinational State of Bolivia and its legitimate President, Evo Morales, democratically elected on October 20. He was the first indigenous President of the Americas.

Upon the announcement of his reelection, the fascist and racist Bolivian oligarchy allied with Western imperialism that provided logistical and financial support. They rushed to commit despicable acts of violence suc to reinstate a regime of terror serving the interests of Washington and Canadian mining companies such as South American Gold as well as those of the European Union and other oligarchs in the region, Bolsonaro in the lead. These actions include theft, rape, burning of different buildings and murders.

This opposition never accepted that, since 2006, an indigenous President could rule the country and redistribute wealth, industrialize and modernize the national economy rather than inflating the pockets of big companies’ shareholders. Moreover, the Oligarchs never accepted that Morales as President would give justice to Indigenous people and guarantee them rights.

“Tayta Evo,” as his followers and sympathizers called him, did not resign. He is the victim of a coup d’etat whose modalities have been carefully considered by the OAS and their allies – how else can we justify the fact that an elected President is forced to resign because of pressure from the army and the police?

Canada is not left out: it is no coincidence that a few minutes before the announcement of Morales’ “resignation”, Chrystia Freeland, referred to a “transition” in Bolivia and confessed shamelessly to have financially and logistically supported the mission of the OAS at the polls on October 20th. This means a lot. It means that Canada intervened in a country’s sovereign affairs, Bolivia, in order to safeguard its interests. It is not new.

For about ten years, the Latin American comprador bourgeoisie allies with Western imperialism. It doubles efforts to claim back all kinds of the people’s social conquests. The coup attempts in Venezuela, the reactivation of Chapter 4 of the Helms-Burton Law against Cuba, the recent attempts to destabilize Nicaragua, and the coup in Bolivia are clear examples of this.

However, the masses are getting organized and imperialism hits a strong wall with the people clearly supporting their legitime President, Evo Morales. In neighboring Chile, they are fighting against Pinera, the living example of liberalism’s crimes.

Young communists, we are confident that the people of Bolivia have not said their last word. We remember how in the wake of massive mobilizations, including those related to the “Water War”,  Evo Morales was elected President for the first time in 2006. We are therefore confident that his people will know to be heirs of Tupac Amaru and Bartolina Sisa and continue their century-long resistance against imperialism and the native Bolivian oligarchy.

We also know that the struggle against imperialism can not be the work of one people. That is why we call on the youth of Canada to clearly demonstrate their solidarity with the Bolivian people and their legitimate President, Evo Morales, and to denounce unequivocally the Canadian interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries, including Bolivia.

KAWSACHUN EVO MORALES!

KAWSACHUN BOLIVIA QISPISQA IMPERIALISMOMANTA!
